Home / Services
Start with the problem, then choose the category. Examples are general guidance and do not mean a member is currently listed in every category or offers every service mentioned. Check the directory for current members, and confirm availability, service, and coverage for your property with the company you choose.
Home Systems
These are the systems inside a home that supply water, power, and comfort.
Who should I call for a leaking water heater or water leak?
A plumbing company is the right specialty for a leaking water heater, dripping supply line, or suspected hidden leak. Describe where water is appearing, when it started, and whether the issue affects one fixture or the whole property.
Who handles repeated breaker trips or electrical panel work?
An electrical company handles breaker, circuit, outlet, and panel concerns. Tell the company what loses power and whether the problem occurs when a particular appliance or circuit is in use.
Who do I call when heating or cooling stops working?
A heating and cooling company, often called HVAC, handles furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning. Explain whether the system will not start, will not maintain temperature, or runs constantly.
Is a drain or sewer problem a plumbing job?
Drain backups, slow drains, and sewer-line concerns usually belong to a plumbing company that offers those services. Confirm whether the company handles your type of drain, inspection, cleaning, or repair before scheduling.
Who can check weak water pressure?
A plumber can investigate pressure concerns within the property's plumbing. Explain whether hot water, cold water, individual fixtures, or the entire property are affected; a utility-supply issue may require coordination with the water provider.
Who helps with lighting, outlets, or an EV charger?
An electrician can discuss lighting changes, outlet work, and charging equipment within its service scope. Ask about the property's electrical capacity, installation requirements, and any permits that apply to the proposed work.
Can a company coordinate a repair for an out-of-town property owner?
Ask the individual company about remote authorization, property access, photos, written proposals, and completion updates. Living elsewhere does not prevent you from contacting a local professional for your Smoky Mountain or East Tennessee property.
Can I request help between vacation-rental stays?
Share the property's location, guest departure and arrival times, access arrangements, and the problem to be addressed. The company you contact determines availability and whether the requested work can fit that window.
Exterior & Structural
This category covers the outside shell of a property and the parts that hold it up.
Who should I contact for a roof leak or missing shingles?
A roofing company handles roof surfaces, flashing, and related leak repairs within its scope. Explain where water appears and whether damage followed a storm, and ask how the company approaches inspection and repair.
Who repairs damaged siding or a worn deck?
A company specializing in siding, decks, or exterior carpentry may be the right fit. Share the material, age, condition, and approximate project size so it can determine whether the work falls within its services.
Who can evaluate cracks, sagging, or structural concerns?
Contact a company that works on foundations or structural framing and explain the concern. Ask what it evaluates directly and whether your situation calls for a separate engineering assessment.
Who handles gutters or water collecting around a foundation?
Gutter specialists address roof-water collection and downspouts. Foundation, drainage, or landscape companies may address water collecting around the building; explain where the water originates and where it ends up.
Can a company inspect storm damage at my cabin?
Ask the appropriate roof, siding, tree, or structural specialist about its inspection services and availability. Provide the property location, visible damage, and access details; confirm what documentation it can supply.
Who installs or repairs windows and exterior doors?
Window, door, or exterior carpentry specialists handle these projects within their service scope. Describe whether the issue involves damaged components, water entry, operation, or a planned replacement.
Should I repair or replace my roof, siding, or deck?
That decision depends on condition, extent of damage, remaining service life, and the proposed work. Ask the relevant company to explain practical options, what each proposal includes, and why it recommends a particular approach.
Who should I contact about a crawl-space or moisture problem?
A foundation, waterproofing, or moisture-control specialist may be appropriate for building or ground-water concerns. If the source is a leaking water or drain line, involve a plumbing company as part of the solution.
Interior Improvements
This category is for work that repairs or updates the inside of a property.
Who handles painting a room or an entire interior?
A painting company can discuss walls, ceilings, trim, cabinets, and other surfaces within its scope. Explain the areas involved, their current condition, and whether the property will be occupied during the work.
Who installs new floors or tile?
Flooring and tile specialists work with the materials they regularly install. Share the room size, existing surface, intended material, and any known moisture or subfloor concerns before requesting a proposal.
Who can remodel a kitchen, bathroom, or other room?
A remodeling project may involve several trades. Ask whether the company manages the full project or only a portion, who coordinates related work, and who handles permits where they apply.
Who repairs drywall or ceiling damage?
A drywall or painting company may handle patching and finishing within its scope. When damage comes from a leak or moisture issue, coordinate the source repair before completing the finish work.
Who handles cabinets, trim, and interior carpentry?
A cabinet or interior carpentry specialist may handle installation, repairs, and finish details. Describe what is being changed and ask whether painting, hardware, or related work is included or handled separately.
Can interior work be scheduled while a cabin is unoccupied?
Ask the company about available dates, access, furniture protection, drying or curing time, and cleanup. Share the next occupancy date so it can discuss a realistic work plan for your rental property.
What should a flooring or tile estimate explain?
Look for the material, preparation, removal of existing surfaces, installation method, transitions, and cleanup included in the proposal. Ask how unexpected subfloor or moisture conditions would be addressed and authorized.
How do I compare interior-improvement proposals?
Compare the actual scope, preparation, materials, schedule, exclusions, and cleanup rather than the total alone. Ask each company to explain differences and how changes to the agreed work would be documented.
Outdoor Services
These specialties care for the grounds around a home or rental.
Who handles landscaping and routine yard care?
Landscape and lawn-care companies may offer planting, mulching, mowing, and property upkeep. Explain whether you want a one-time improvement or ongoing maintenance, and confirm which services the company provides.
Who handles tree trimming, removal, or storm cleanup?
A tree-service company may handle trimming, removal, and related cleanup. Describe the tree's size, location, access, and nearby structures so the company can discuss its approach and service scope.
Who builds patios or other outdoor living spaces?
A hardscape, landscape, or outdoor construction specialist may handle patios and similar projects. Ask about the materials, site preparation, drainage, and any related work included in its proposal.
Who can help with a retaining wall or walkway?
Contact a company that regularly handles the type of wall or hardscape you need. The site, height, materials, and purpose affect the work; ask whether separate design or engineering is needed for your project.
Who installs or repairs fences and gates?
A fencing or appropriate outdoor specialist may handle installation, repairs, and gates. Share the material, approximate length, access conditions, and whether you need a repair or a new layout.
Can a company maintain a vacation-rental property's grounds?
Ask the individual company about scheduled upkeep, seasonal work, access, and communication with an off-site owner or property manager. Confirm how its work can be coordinated with guest stays.
What should I share before an outdoor site visit?
Provide the property location, requested work, access arrangements, slope or drainage concerns, and photos if the company requests them. Share information directly with that company through its own contact process.
Can outdoor work be scheduled around weather and guest stays?
Discuss available dates, equipment access, cleanup, and how weather may affect the work. The company should explain scheduling expectations and how changes will be communicated.
Using the directory
Are all services mentioned here currently available through Network members?
Not necessarily. These answers explain service categories, not a promise that every specialty is currently represented. The live directory shows current members and their listed services.
How do I find the right specialist for my problem?
Start with the relevant category, review the company's services, and contact it directly to describe the issue. If the job needs a different specialty, ask whether it can identify the appropriate type of professional.
Does the Network book work or send my request to a company?
No. Website and Contact buttons open the listed company's own pages; a Phone button opens your device's calling function. The directory records button clicks for referral reporting but does not forward a customer inquiry.
Do all members cover every area shown on the map?
No. The map is a regional service-area guide, not an individual company's coverage commitment. Confirm the actual service area and availability with the company you choose.
Can I use the directory while living outside the Smoky Mountains?
Yes. Off-site homeowners, cabin owners, and property managers can use it to find local professionals for a property in the Smoky Mountains or nearby East Tennessee. Give the company the property's location when checking coverage.
What should I ask before authorizing a repair or project?
Confirm the proposed scope, pricing and payment terms, expected timing, property access, and how additional work will be authorized. The individual business, not the Network, provides the proposal and performs the work.
Will a company update the professional who referred me?
When a referrer is identified and you agree, the business receiving the inquiry is expected to acknowledge the referral and provide a brief update when the work is completed or the request cannot be handled.
